After three unsuccesful seasons the Revs returned to the playoffs with a late sprint finishing at the 7th place in the East and being eliminated in the first round by Atlanta. The key point last season was the hiring of Bruce Arena as head coach as after that the Revs had a 11-match unbeaten run. Carles Gil was a revelation for the whole league and with 10 goals and 14 assists he was voted Newcomer of the Year. The acquirement of Alex Buttner is expected to give a solution finally to left back position while Adam Buksa was signed as Designated player in order to help in scoring. Matt Turner, probably one of the best goalkeepers of the league remained and that will give much certainty to the defensive line of the Revs. There were of course many players that depart from the team like Anibaba, Agudelo, Junior Caicedo, Castillo and Mancienne but it won't affect much the team as none of the star players left and in plus they added some key depth pieces.

Target

Eastern Conference Finals. After returning to the playoffs, Arena's squad will want to go some steps further and they have the potential to do it.
