Out

Finished in 3rd which was a terrific achievement given the manager had to reshape the team two times during the season with players finishing their military service and new recruits joining. They've lost their manager and his coaching staff, which is a huge blow. Chung Jung-yong has left to join the champions so is stepping up while his replacement has not been a full-time manager at this level before. Squad have only had new additions with some quality added like Jun-soo Byeon but he may not be available until April. The outlook is very bleak with relegation already confirmed. It won't matter what position they finish but if they avoid 12th then another team will face the K1/K2 playoffs but if they finish 12th no other team will go down. Motivation will be entirely internal with a lot of players improving when they've joined GImcheon in recent years but that was under the previous coach. Strengths - the squad have had time to gel and there will be less disruption than in previous seasons, with the current group of starters staying until October rather than the usual July. Weaknesses - Manager is not the same level as the previous coach and hasn't managed this unique kind of situation. Squad is weaker than the one that took them to third last season.

Target

The team are already relegated due to the club moving city next season so no matter where they finish they will be in K2 next season. Main focus will be on developing the players.
