Kortrijk’s transfer business has so far seen them cover the departures of some important players. Central midfielders De Sart and Makarenko have left but Vandendriessche and Fixelles have been brought in. They have yet to sign a player that necessarily improves the squad from last season. Moreno and Hermann are young players with points to prove. Scoring goals could be a problem this campaign. Gano hit six in nine starts during the latter half of last season but has since gone back to his parent club, winger Faiz Selemani weighed in with eight goals and five assists but doubts surround his future at the club after he rejected a new contract offer. Preparations for this season started during the latter months of the last campaign. Boss Luka Elsner experimented with his line-ups during this period leading to inconsistent results towards the end of last season but could give them an advantage going into this season. Expectations at the club are to push for a top 8 finish. The squad has a core of experienced players and they should stay away from danger but competing further up the table looks beyond them.

Target

Should comfortably avoid relegation but a top 8 finish looks unlikely.
