Solid last season W12 D7 L15 brought them a prestigious 7th place in the end. Never in real trouble and for most of the campaign enjoyed mid-table existence. That said after opening the campaign with 5 wins in 7 there was sharp decline the rest of the way. Achieved just 1 win in the final 12 rounds D4 L7. Luckily others made mistakes also and the top 10 finish was protected. Struggled in attack past Christmas. No player reached double digits for goals. Lost playmaker Alan and the main threat out wide Teguia this summer. Brought in promising youngster João Veloso. He is believed to have very high sealing. The intention is to give him the role of main ball-dominant-midfielder and hope the hype around him is justified. Landerson (19) hinted at great future last season. The aggressive winger is expected to land a starting role now. He will have both Maranhao and Parsemain to aim at inside the box. Moreirense had problems defensively last term but the manager seems content to bring back the same personnel in defence for another try. The starters at the back are likely to be all the same. Haven’t improved the squad much. That said the few young players with high potential could develop into stars. If this happens Moreirense will benefit.
