Football Season Guide

NAC Breda are back in the Eerste Divisive after a couple of campaigns in the top-flight as they struggled to find goals and consistency throughout the year and just could not get enough points at the end to get above the likes of Volendam and Telstar and at least get into the relegation play-offs. They decided to stick with Carl Hoefkens as a manager for the time being despite the relegation but he is well aware that he is on a timetable and needs to hit the ground running early in the season as NAC start the season as the presumptive favourites for promotion. They actually kept most of their squad from last season and there is a fair bit of quality and experience in the ranks. The biggest departures are goalie Daniel Bielica and impressive full-back, Boy Kemper, and the hopes of the fans are that there will be replacements signed for them in the coming weeks before the window closes. The only two additions to the squad so far are a couple of 34-year-olds in Paul Gladon and Mats Seuntjens, who will be expected to deal with the team's biggest flaw from last season - the lack of real goalscorer. They are both still quality players at this level and should guarantee at least 15 goals each if they stay fit. In midfield, Clint Leemans may be gone but Kamal Sowah and Mohammed Nassoh are still pretty impressive and strong players. On the wing, Charles-Andreas Brym is a solid option that can play different positions. Rio Hillen is sticking around in defence after it initially seemed like he will be leaving this summer and this is vital for a back line that is a bit thin on the ground. Overall, NAC do look like one of the best sides in the league but do need a bit more work to beef up the depth of the squad.
