Having avoided relegation only through the play-outs in 2021/2022, last season Quevilly displayed signs of improvement obtaining a quiet salvation, getting out of the bottom 4 in October and never getting back there again. In fact, they actually fell off the top 10 only in the last 3 weeks of the campaign. Despite initial doubts, he had not managed male football for several years, coach Olivier Echouafni did an excellent job even though he had to rely on a thin squad. Changes should be made in the new campaign as Echouafni will have to deal with a completely different squad. First of all, all 3 goalies, Lemaitre, Thuram and Boulais, left and they seem to have been properly replaced. Leroy, in particular, had some great seasons at Ajaccio and actually represents an upgrade between the sticks. On the other hand, a lot had been expected by centre-back Ben Youssef last season but he failed to impress and was eventually let go with experienced Roche arriving on free and looking like yet another improvement, However, it is offensively that Quevilly saw the majority of changes with the likes of key winger Soumare, attacking midfielder Bangre, and strikers Mafouta and Jung all leaving. They were responsible for 29 goals and 15 assists together overall and the management tried to replace them adding a whole group of new forwards. Among them, Do Marcolino should be the one providing most of the goals, while Sakho still represents no entity at this level. As most of them joined the club only recently, they will need time to get going.

Target

Quevilly aim at another quiet salvation and they should make it, even though the attack is still puzzling.
