Sandefjord start the season somehow still an Eliteserien club, something that they should consider very lucky to still be after a terrible campaign last season in which they were the worst team in the division in the second half of the season. Yet, they still managed to accrue enough points to avoid the bottom two and then dispatched Konsvinger with relative ease in the play-offs. Now they start the season as the main favourites for relegation and it is hard to escape the notion that this is the weakest and most limited squad in the division. It has certainly been refreshed in the off-season as most of the experienced players have moved on, including Harmeet Singh, Deyver Vega, Rufo and William Kurtovic, along with player of the season, Mohmaed Ofkir. The new singings are all mostly untested players from lower divisions in Norway and Sweden who have lots to prove and do not really seem ready for the tests that the Eliteserien presents. Jacob Dunsby has looked promising on the wing while Danilo Al-Saed and Filip Ottosson are also players who can develop into important first-team regulars. However, there is just not enough pedigree and experience in this squad and Hans Erik Ødegaard will have to really find some gems and coach them really well to get enough points to stay up again. It is a tall order for the Whales but they will not be lacking for desire and effort and will be eager to defy expectations.

Target

Somehow beating the drop but it will be a tall order.
