The Canaries dramatically missed out on Play-off I on the last day of the regular season last March and then they lost the Play-off II final even more dramatically, making a season of good displays ending in bitter disappointment. Coach Brys is expected to use mainly 3-5-2 formation, although he could also go for 4-2-3-1 in certain games with recently signed De Smet able to play very well both as part of back 3 and back 4. More players are likely to join the team soon, currently Sint-Truiden are short on inner midfielders, but as things stand Endo is set to become regular starter in the heart of the midfield. His ability to protect the defence, he also regularly plays as part of a back 3 for Japan’s national team, should allow the wide players to roam forward often. This as it was proven in 2 consecutive seasons makes Sint-Truiden very hard to play against when they are hosts and on the front foot.
