Tromsø managed to avoid relegation last season after an inspired run in the final third of the campaign, pulling off some top wins and really going for it after failing to win a single home game for large stages of the campaign. It was a pretty impressive turnaround from a difficult position for a side of limited quality and Gaute Helstrup was definitely one of the more impactful managers in the division last season. He is facing another challenging campaign with a rather thin squad this season but will rely on the hard work of the players and the cohesion that he has developed in the squad to give them a good chance in staying up. New additions have been quite limited in the off season and the one more eye-catching addition, that of former Stoke keeper Jakob Haugaard, got injured in pre-season and will be out for some time. With Jacob Kalstrom sealing a big move to Molde, that leaves the squad with quite a hole to fill between the sticks. They also lost some firepower as Runar Espejord headed to local rivals Bodø/Glimt in a move that certainly stings while local cult hero Zdenek Ondrasek also cut short his spell after joining last summer. Moses Ebiye will be the man to lead the attack this season as a result and he has the physique and quality to do it but the lack of depth in midfield and out wide is a real cause of concern for a squad that seems primed for a relegation dogfight.

Target

Will look to get enough points not to be in danger of relegation.
