VVV Venlo were mostly terrible last season as they started with a lot of disappointing results that moored them near the bottom of the standings and they never really managed to climb out of the mire in the latter stages of the season, with a constant set of injuries hampering them and forcing John Lammers into constant changes. It was just a complete write-off of a campaign and right now the team from Venlo seems completely unable to climb above the mid-table mediocrity and become more of a force in the league. The squad is lacking far too much quality and also numbers right now after seeing 14 departures over the summer, including of some very solid and established players like Rick Ketting, Elias Sierra, Simon Janssen and Thijme Verheijen. They will not be easy to replace given the generally small budget that the club operates with and they have mostly focused on youngsters from clubs in the country who have veery little actual experience and will struggle to step in immediately. Joshua Ejgenraam from Excelsior is the one addition that looks promising in midfield but the defence looks especially shallow right now with the departures of some experienced players and br8nbg in as replacements two 20-year-olds who have not really played senior football so far. John Lammers will try to make the team more coherent and solid as a structure and will certainly hope that they avoid the raft of injuries from last year but right now it looks hard to see this team achieving anything else but a lower mid-table finish.
