In Brief

Coming off unlikely midweek league draw. FA Cup record bad. Willems amongst 8 sidelined players. Joelinton should be over knock on time, but Carroll major doubt. Saint-Maximin and Yedlin fit.

Looking Back

Newcastle scored 2 stoppage-time goals on Tuesday night to save unlikely 2:2 draw on visit to Everton. Centre-back Lejeune came off bench to score both goals!

In previous FA Cup round needed replay against modest Rochdale team – 1:1 away draw followed by 4:1 home win.

In general record in FA Cup very poor over the years, the last time Magpies were past round 4 way back in 2005!

Looking Ahead

Coach Bruce has crippled squad and on top of 8 sidelined players he has 2 others doubtful. Joelinton likely to be over knock on time, but Carroll still in pain and unlikely to be risked.

Saint-Maximin and Yedlin also had problems recently, but they are both cleared to play.

Likely to have at least 2-3 members of U23 squad included in group for this one.

In Brief

Winless run continued with a 1:1 draw at Gillingham. Jamie Hanson is fit again. Cameron Brannagan doubtful. Matty Taylor out. George Thorne re-signs.

Looking Back

Oxford's run of games without a win continued with a 1:1 draw at Gillingham.

The U's have been playing some eye-catching football this season and are battling for promotion, but have slowed down lately, having won only one of their last five competitive games.

Looking Ahead

Jamie Hanson made the squad that faced Gillingham. It was the first time he made a squad in almost two months, following an injury.

Cameron Brannagan is doubtful after missing the previous game.

Matty Taylor faces weeks on the sidelines with an injury and Karl Robinson is looking to sign a striker.

George Thorne, who spent time on loan with the club earlier this season, has signed a permanent deal until the end of the campaign.

Points of Interest

Oxford's current four-game winless run in the league is their longest winless run since August.
