In Brief

Liam Moore a doubt with virus. Gunter, Joao and Boye are missing.

Looking Back

Earned an important win at home against Barnsley at the weekend to stop a recent poor run of form and inject some confidence into the ranks. It was an even game and Rafael made some key save but the Royals showed cutting edge as they got a 2:0 win.

Got past Cardiff after penalties in the previous round and have already played four game in just two rounds of the FA Cup.

Looking Ahead

At home to a strong Sheffield United side and will be looking to pull off what would be a great win and secure a spot in the last-eight.

Mark Bowen used mostly reserves in the previous two rounds but should go with mostly his first 11 for the Cup clash, especially after mixing up the starting side for the league game.

Matt Miazga returned from injury against Barnsley. Liam Moore was out with virus but should be back on the fold. Tom McIntyre, Chris Gunter, Joao Lucas and Lucas Boye are sidelined.

Points of Interest

Reading have struggled badly against the Blades in recent years, losing 4 in a row and also winning just once in the last 11 against them.

Manager Comments

Bowen: "We know it'll be a really hard game - the whole country now knows what Sheffield United are like. They'll come strong too but bring it on, it'll be a good experience for us, for me and the players. We'll have a good crowd too so it's a nice distraction."

In Brief

Had weekend free and well prepared for game. Having amazing season so far. Stevens doubtful, but no other issues.

Looking Back

Blades free at weekend, their Premier League game postponed due to League Cup final, which gave plenty of time for preparations to be made for coming match.

Enjoying amazing return to top flight so far, sit in top 6 and play some very efficient football.

Had easy ride in FA Cup so far – 2:1 vs. Flyde and 2:0 vs. Millwall. Used many fringe players in those 2 games and all 4 goals scored by squad members that rarely see starts in Premier League.

Looking Ahead

Coach Wilder expected to once again rotate and trust lots of supporting squad members in this one. 35-year-old veteran Clarke scored his only goal this season in this competition and he could be used again.

Stevens doubtful, but this only injury concern.

Manager Comments

"The new boys (Restos and Zivkovic) could be in for debuts."
