In Brief

Seek fourth win vs. Chelsea this season! Unbeaten since January in any competition – (W13 D6). Shaw ruled out. Williams doubtful.

Looking Back

United enter FA Cup semi-final full of confidence after extending unbeaten run in all competitions to 19 (W13 D6) on Thursday with slightly fortunate 2:0 away win vs. Crystal Palace. Rahford played very well in this game, with Martial also on scoresheet for third time in last 4 rounds.

Needed extra times to eliminate Norwich in previous round, but motivation high as FA Cup only realistic chance for United to win trophy this season.

Already met Chelsea 3 times this campaign, with all of those games won relatively comfortably – 4:0 at home and 2:0 away in league + 2:1 away win in League Cup. Rashford scored braces in 2 of these 3 games!

Looking Ahead

Coach Solskjaer hopes to have at least Williams (head injury) back for game, with main left-back Shaw still nursing swollen ankle and unable to play.

No other serious absentees Ex-Chelsea midfielder Matic could start in this one, with other rarely used players like Romero, Dalot, Lingard and Ighalo also hoping to be picked from the off.

No fans.

In Brief

Remain in control of race for top 4 finish. Hungry to chase first trophy under Lampard, already knocked out top class teams in this competition. Gilmour out. Kante failed late fitness test.

Looking Back

Chelsea economic, but effective, on Tuesday night when edging bottom-dwellers Norwich 1:0 at home. Giroud scored in third consecutive league start to bring win, with Blues wasteful in attack, but well in control all match.

FA Cup taken very seriously this season and after 2 rounds in which easy wins against lower league teams achieved Chelsea knocked out Liverpool (2:0) and Leicester (1:0) in last 2 rounds on way to semi-finals.

Barkley having excellent FA Cup run and he has scored in 3 of 4 games played, while also providing 2 assists.

Looking Ahead

Coach Lampard won't have Kante available for game after his fitness didn't improve fast enough. At least this only serious injury issue in squad.

Mount and Barkley rested in midweek, suggesting that they will start now. Also Abraham might be preferred to lead attack ahead of Giroud as former much faster striker, which could potentially hurt United’s slow centre-backs.
