Game Report

Highlights

Sheffield United fought back from two goals down to earn a draw at Stamford Bridge. Tammy Abraham punished defensive mistakes to give Chelsea a 2-0 half-time lead but Callum Robinson pulled one back straight after the restart and Kurt Zouma deflected the ball into his own net late on.

Detail

Frank Lampard named the youngest ever Chelsea team in Premier League history and they produced another lively first half display. Abraham was a constant nuisance in the box and he snapped up the opening goal after Dean Henderson's fumble.

Another defensive howler from Sheffield United saw them fall two goals behind. John Egan and Jack O'Connell collided going for the same high ball - with Abraham again the beneficiary.

Robinson missed a great chance to get the Blades on the board in the first half but made amends immediately after the break. The Irishman converted Enda Stevens' cross to get his side right back in contention.

Sheffield United had the momentum in the second half but also needed Henderson to keep them in the game. The keeper denied Abraham a hat-trick with a sensational reaction save.

Chelsea have faded in the second halves of games this season and it was a similar story again here. Robinson's dangerous cross was diverted into his own net by Zouma.

Summary

Huge frustration for Chelsea who should have seen the game out but perhaps such a young team didn't have the experience and nous to do that. Sheffield United deserve great credit for the way they battled back in the second half.
