Game Report

Highlights

Jeff Hendrick came off the bench to score a stoppage-time equaliser as Burnley snatched a point at Brighton. The Seagulls were on course for a deserved win when Neal Maupay opened the scoring but Hendrick's fine strike ensured the game ended all square.

Detail

A positive start from the visitors. Dwight McNeil was their biggest threat with his deliveries in the box which caused early panic in the home defence and a couple of close calls.

Brighton grew into the game and looked the more dangerous side as the half wore on. Solly March had their first decent effort which was kept out at the near-post by Nick Pope.

March was popping up on either flank and feeding Glen Murray with some good balls into the box. The big striker should have scored with a free header in front of goal but fluffed his lines.

The Seagulls got the goal their pressure deserved early in the second half and unsurprisingly March was the provider. The winger dug out another good cross and Maupay met it with a first-time volley finish.

The hosts tried to see out the game towards the end but Burnley forced the equaliser. Hendrick drilled in from distance after a lovely team move.

Summary

Brighton dominated in terms of possession and chances but couldn't hold on for all three points. Burnley's only shot on target was the goal so they'll be the happier of the two sides with this result.
