Ostersunds

Last updated: Sun 30 June 2019 08:48
In Brief

Will be hoping for a better points return after the summer break. Dino Islamovic is suspended. Simon Kroon is still out injured. Tom Petterson, Jamie Hopcutt, Ronald Mukiibi, Rewan Amin, Andrew Mills, Jerell Sellars and Francis Jno-Baptiste are also doubtful. Ravel Morrison will probably not feature until his contract situation is solved.

Looking Back

Ostersunds are on a very poor run at the moment, and probably the worst form shown under current coach Ian Burchnall.

They sit 10th in the league and have not won any of their last five league games. Hopefully the summer break has invigorated them.

There's plenty of talent in the ranks, but injuries have played their part in making it difficult for Burchnall to pick a stable starting eleven.

Looking Ahead

They welcome IFK Gothenburg to Jamtkraft Arena this weekend, and the visitors had a flying start to the season before being pegged back a little bit in recent weeks.

Alhaji Gero will be favourite to replace the suspended Dino Islamovic up front if he is fit.

Points of Interest

Ostersunds beat IFK Gothenburg 2-1 in this fixture last season, but there's usually very little between these two sides and the odd goal will probably be the margin again.

IFK Gothenburg

In Brief

The pleasant surprise of season so far. Important Calisir passed fit, but Ohlsson set to miss. Nygren sold and won't feature. Erlingmark back after ban.

Looking Back

Gothenburg enjoyed far better than expected opening 12 rounds. Their open and aggressive style of play earned them many admirers.

Just 1 defeat in last 8 games (4 wins and 3 draws) + attempting most shots on goal from inside the penalty area in entire league.

Looking Ahead

Coach Asbaghi saw Nygren sold and despite fact that he is not joining Genk until next week he won't be used this weekend.

Calisir and Ohlsson missed 2 weeks injured and only the former was deemed fit enough to play. Erlingmark available after suspension.

Points of Interest

Earned single point from last 3 away games vs. Ostersunds.
