Morton

Last updated: Sat 05 January 2019 08:42
In Brief

Johnstone and Oliver unavailable. Tidser and Waddell available. MacLean joins Falkirk. Tiffoney available.

Looking Back

Morton finished 2018 on a high as they won 2-1 at Partick Thistle. Two breakaway goals from Scott Tiffoney and Charlie Telfer made the difference on a day when their defence excelled.

The win at Firhill was needed as Morton hadn't tasted victory since early November. The three points at Partick keeps them on the fringes of the race for the play-offs.

Looking Ahead

Morton look set to remain without strikers, Denny Johnstone and Gary Oliver into 2019.

Michael Tidser and Kerr Waddell are set to return from suspensions. Scott Tiffoney is available although his loan expires on Sunday.

On loan winger, Ross MacLean, has cut his loan spell short and accepted a move to Falkirk.

Points of Interest

Morton have endured a mixed first half of the season at Cappielow. Their nine home fixtures have produced three wins, three draws and three defeats.

Ross County

Last updated: Sat 05 January 2019 08:42
In Brief

Graham suspended. Demetriou, Fontaine, Mullin and Vigurs unavailable. Kelly doubtful. Paton returns as Dow and Dykes depart.

Looking Back

County won the Highland derby against Inverness 2-1 last week with goals from Billy Mckay and Ross Stewart. However, it came at a cost with Stelios Demetriou injured and Brian Graham sent off.

County are well-placed at the midpoint with only two defeats so far this season. However, their injury list is growing and the squad is stretched.

Looking Ahead

Brian Graham is suspended for two matches after being sent off for fighting in the derby. Stelios Demetriou is also unavailable after sustaining an injury in the first half.

Liam Fontaine is probably unavailable for the rest of the season and is joined on the sidelines by Iain Vigurs and Josh Mullin.

Right-back, Sean Kelly, is a doubt so Tom Grivosti may earn another start at Morton.

Harry Paton has returned from his loan at Stenhousemuir and is in the frame for the squad. Ryan Dow has made his spell at Peterhead permanent. Dylan Dykes has been released.

Points of Interest

County enjoyed one of their biggest wins of the season when they defeated Morton 5-0 in Dingwall, but they lost 2-1 at Cappielow at the start of the season.
