Coritiba’s 2025 season was one of redemption and dominance in Série B, as ‘Coxa’ clinched the title with 68 points and finished 1st, sealing a return to Série A after three years in second tier. Their campaign was built on the league’s best defensive record, conceding just 22 goals. Josué was the best player of the whole Série B. Other standouts included keeper Pedro Morisco, centre-half Jacy and gifted left-footed winger Lucas Ronier. The great composer of last season's masterpiece his surprisingly gone: the club decided to let Mozart go away and found Fernando Seabra to be a better option for the new project in top flight division. Seabra had a relatively poor season with Bragantino in 2025 and was sacked around October. Coritiba was quite active on the market, showing some healthy financial situation. Some important players on the promotion to Série A are gone, like full-backs Alex Silva and Zeca, midfielder Felipe Machado and most notably the two attackers Coutinho and Delatorre. However, on the other hand, 'Coxa' brought some important names, like the established Thiago Santos, Tinga and Breno Lopes. Midfielder Willian Oliveira and winger Pedro Rocha revived their careers in 2025. The most exciting name is, however, the attacking midfielder Gustavo. His days in Arabic football weren't rich, but with 23 he is well on time to recover the excellent form shown in 2021 with Sport Recife. Josué is the absolute big name for the new season, after a tremendous first season at Brazil, last year. Combining him with Gustavo should be a challenge, but if gaffer Seabra finds a place for the two, Coritiba might have some success.

Target

The newly promoted team with better conditions to be more than a relegation contender, this year.
