Mirassol’s 2025 season was extraordinary and historic. In their first ever Série A campaign, they've finished 4th, securing qualification to the 2026 Libertadores group stage in a breakthrough achievement for the century-old club. Their Copa do Brasil involvement was absent, as they did not qualify for the tournament in 2025. Mirassol were acclaimed for consistency, going unbeaten at home and surprising traditional powers throughout the season. Veteran goalkeeper Walter, left-back Reinaldo and central midfielder Danielzinho were the team's standout. The keeper arrived at the club to be Muralha's deputy, but quickly turned himself into a reference at the back. Reinaldo was safe at the back and made a highly impressive mark of 14 goals and 8 assists throughout the season. Danielzinho was the core, the brain, the muscle and the heart of the midfield. Rafael Guanaes was the sensation of last season. He led Mirassol into one of the most extraordinary achievements in modern day Brazilian football. Mirassol arrived at Série A as a first-timer and finished with a solid top-4 position that granted them a position in Libertadores group stage. Guanaes was the mind behind this great achievement, even greater if we look at how low profile was the squad that he had in hands. He should keep the solid 4-3-3, with a positive mentality. But will he handle well a renewed squad on the always difficult second season?
