Back in August, Volendam were one of the main candidates for relegation, both because they were just promoted and because they lacked experience at this level, however, they achieved an all-in-all quiet survival by finishing the league in 14th position. After a difficult start to the season, coach Wim Jonk managed to find the ideal 11 and the many young players acquired the necessary experience, thus making a streak of victories that took them out of the dangerous part of the table. Wim Jonk decided to stay in Volendam, anyway not anymore as coach, but with a managerial role, while the bench was entrusted to his assistant, young German Matthias Kohler. Not much should change from a tactical point of view. The main changes took place in the roster with the departure, due to the end of the loan, of two key players, goalkeeper Filip Stankovic and the talented attacking midfielder Gaetano Oristanio. If the former seems to have been well replaced by the young Mio Backhaus from Werder Bremen, Oristanio still hasn't had a replacement, which will still be very difficult. Another valuable piece as captain Carel Eiting seems about to leave the team, it would be another serious loss.

Target

If in the last days of the transfer market The other orange do not fill the gap, they will start the season again this year as one of the main candidates for relegation.
