Football Season Guide

RKC Waalwijk are coming from one of the best seasons of their history, never involved in the relegation struggle, fought also for a spot in the playoffs, eventually finishing in 9th position. The main architect was undoubtedly coach Joseph Oosting, always good at fielding the best 11 and reading the weaknesses of the opponents. Unfortunately for RKC the skill of the coach did not go unnoticed, so much so that in the summer he signed a contract with Twente. The club decided to appoint in his place Henk Fraser, an experienced coach, but with a much more cautious approach. During the summer they lost three very important players such as starting midfielders Vurnon Anita, Pelle Clement and Mats Seuntjens. At the moment the void left by them has not been filled and it is precisely the midfield the sector in which they will have to concentrate in this transfer market, as in the other sectors they seem already covered. Experienced Jeffrey Bruma and Aaron Meijers came to strengthen the defense, the sector that suffered more past season, while in attack they managed to confirm top scorer Michiel Kramer (12 goals past season) and added few youngsters such as Richonell Margaret, Denilho Cleonise and Ilias Takidine. Maybe in attack they would need another more experienced player.
