Koln managed to achieve their minimum expectation of extending their Bundesliga status for a second season but their dismal end of the season form almost dragged them into a relegation fight in the final weeks of the campaign. It has been a quiet transfer window for Koln so far with keeper Ron-Robert Zieler the only new arrival and is expected to challenge Timo Horn for a place in the lineup. Simon Terodde has left the club on a free transfer to Hamburger SV while Sobiech, Risse, Schindler and Verstraete have also left the club on loan deals. The biggest departure, though, is that of Mark Uth who has returned back to Schalke with Koln unable to convert his loan move into a permanent deal. The attacker was key to Koln's good form midway through the campaign and Markus Gisdol will need to find an able replacement if Koln are to ensure another successful season this time around.

Target

Safety from relegation will remain key for Koln though they will need to show a vast improvement in their end of season form if they are to ensure a comfortable finish this time around
