La Louvière enjoyed their first-ever top flight experience last season. Finished in the penultimate spot but survival was confirmed with 4 games to spare, so there was not much drama. Considering that their star striker and top goalscorer from the promotion year Mouhamed Belkheir missed the entire season the Greens did pretty well to secure enough wins. After 9 great years in charge and 3 promotions coach Frédéric Taquin resigned at the end of the campaign. New era begins for the Greens under the ex-assistant coach of Lens and Anderlecht Edward Still, who last term managed Watford in England. It has been a busy summer at the club. The Greens know they need much better results to survive this term when 3 teams are going down. This saw already 13 new arrivals made. Also, the top goalscorer from the promotion season 2 years ago Belkheir could be ready to shine again. He missed the entire last season with an ACL tear but should be up to full fitness come September at latest. Isah is an interesting new striker that should take over from the departed Afriyei. Isah’s speed and directness make him suited to operate on counterattack. The many changes might mean a slow start. The big question will be how fast the players will develop chemistry and how fast they will buy into Still’s tactics.

Target

Avoiding relegation is the only goal. Will struggle to stay out of the bottom 4.
