Poor last season for the Zebras. Relegation was never a real threat but barely stayed above the bottom 4. The results were nothing more than average all season. Spent the bulk of the campaign in mid-table with no real hope of making the top 6 or much worry regarding safety. Coach De Mil left abruptly in December to take over KAA Gent. Hans Cornelis took over. Steady form, nothing too exciting or too dramatically poor, under him meant he was given the job permanently in the summer. Most of the main players are staying put. The only notable departures this summer were those of holding midfielder pair Titraoui-Camara. Signed two similar place for the roles already – Dembaga and Cisse. Also, after an injury-ravaged last season Khalifi is ready for much more exposure. Scheidler wasn’t very effective leader of the attack last term. He should continue as the main target-man but now have a different option. Loaned in Bojang and in some games he could be starting. The squad looks solid on paper. There is healthy competition for every position on the pitch too. Good campaign can be expected from the Zebras. They have only domestic games to think about too.
