Lillestrøm were going along nicely last season until arch rivals Vålerenga detonated their whole campaign by poaching successful and much-liked manager Geir Bakke. LSK drifted along for the rest of the campaign as replacement Eirik Bakke never really got going. A respectable finish in the top half of the standings was not enough to save the coach as it was clear that this team was stagnating and needs a jolt. It found it in Andreas Georgson, who has worked for a long time as a backroom staff at various clubs in England and across Europe and this will be his first job as a manager. The Swede is expected to bring freshness, vim and new ideas into the club and make the Yellow and Blacks more coherent, aggressive in attack and joined-up as a whole. Lillestrøm have not lost too many of their main players and generally the squad feels like it is in a good place as a whole, with the experienced Gjermund Asen and Thomas Lehne Olsen tasked up to create and score goals, and impressive keeper Mads Christiansen expected to stop them on the other end. Eric Kitolano and Erling Knudtzon are the two main additions, coming from Molde, and they are both quite good players who should bring the overall quality of the squad and are likely to be regulars. This Lillestrøm thus looks quite good on paper and it will be interesting if they are back in the hunt for top places, as they were in 2022, with the main point of variance how quickly the new manager adjust to the challenge and new environment.

Target

Will look to get into the battle for the European places.
