Sandefjord yet again found a way to stay up by the skin of their teeth late last season even if they looked like one of the weakest teams in the division for long stretches. Still, they got some key wins late on and it will be a fifth season in a row among the top clubs for the Whales. Hans Erik Odegaard will yet again try to construct a decent and useful side from mostly scraps given the tiny budget that the club operates and the need to sell any half-decent players when they impress. This off-season they have said goodbye to defensive pairing Sander Moe Foss and Jesper Taje but otherwise not too many key starters have left the club. Danilo Al-Saed has stayed put after putting double figures from the wing while Alexander Tveter, Alexander Nilsson and Vetle Egeli are expected to be important players again this year too. The new additions are all mostly untested young players and some coming from the second division with the desire to prove themselves. Eman Markovic has the potential to be a good player in midfield and Andreas van den Spa is likely to be the new cornerstone in defence. Yet, the overall quality in the squad looks meagre and certainly not much better than the one of the teams coming up. That points to another season of scrapping for every point and maximising every purple patch in order to just about stay afloat and clear of the bottom two places but this time Sanderfjord's luck may run out.
