Will anyone be able to stop the current Allsvenskan champions from retaking the domestic crown at the end of the 2017 season? Magnus Pehrsson's side are definitely red hot favourites to leave everyone in their wake yet again. European football has boosted supporter interest and the club's coffers, meaning they have had the finances to invest in the playing squad while their domestic competitors have often had to tighten the belt and have a more balanced approach in trying to unearth some unheard of gems. Malmo have strengthened their squad again in the off season, with Lasse Nielsen looking a top defensive acquisition from the Belgian league. But there hasn't been a huge influx or outgoing of personnel which means Pehrsson is already more or less happy with the squad at his disposal, having just fine tuned it a little in certain places. Malmo suffered quite a shock in their last pre-season match before the serious stuff begins, as they went down 1-0 to newly promoted AFC Eskilstuna. But there is no real cause for alarm just yet with Malmo confident they can come good again and retain their title. And with the squad at Magnus Pehrsson's disposal then it would take someone brave to bet against another successful season at Swedbank Stadion.

Target

Malmo will be aiming for the title again, nothing else will do.
