At the end of the season 2024/2025, following their first relegation from the Serie A, Monza saw the end of their love story with the Berlusconi family and were acquired by an ambitious American fund. Monza held the Serie B 4th-best attack, with 61 goals scored, and the second-best defence, with 32 goals conceded, only 1 more than Venezia. Coach Paolo Bianco found himself at odds with the management and decided to quit for Pisa, while Ivan Juric, coming off 2 disastrous years, was handed the reins of the team. Monza lost some of the protagonists of last season’s promotion over the summer. At the back, starting centre-back Ravanelli was sold to Sampdoria and he should be replaced by Kouadio, coming on loan from Fiorentina, while Lucchesi was signed permanently, also from the Viola, and more muscles are needed. Another starter, Azzi, who acted on the left, was let go to Modena, while in arrived Mangas, on loan from Sporting Lisboa. In the midfield, they lost starting Obiang, who retired, and his place should be taken by Akinsanmiro, on loan from Inter after a mixed campaign at relegated Pisa. With back-ups Caso and Hernani also gone, they signed Ondoa and need to build more depth. Up-front, they signed Cutrone, their second-best striker with 6 goals, permanently while also adding another striker, Varela, and a winger, Robinson, but they are both too young and seem unlikely to make the XI.
