Oxford United blew hot and cold last season. In the end, their inconsistency cost them a playoff berth, finishing eighth in the table under Karl Robinson. The U's have managed to sign Brown permanently, after he spent some time at the club on loan last season. A nice addition. Findlay also comes in from MLS side Philadelphia Union. On the outgoing front, Oxford United have lost a lot of depth. Midfielder Kane, and the attacking duo of Whyte and Holland have departed after their loan spells ended. The big loss is McNally, who was signed by Burnley. Oxford have managed to keep a key core of players together. Striker Taylor, midfielder Brannagan, defender Moore and keeper Stevens is an excellent spine to build around. Injuries could derail any potential promotion push. The squad looks far thinner than it did last season. No doubt Robinson is hoping to address that in the transfer market before the season gets underway. If Oxford can stop conceding needless goals and find some consistency, this is a side that is capable of beating anyone in League One on their day.

Target

A playoff position at minimum. Oxford have a strong line-uP, with a good manager at the helm.
