Scunthorpe managed to bounce back from two relegations in quick succession, as they managed to return to League One at the first time of asking after finishing their League Two campaign as second in the table. The Iron will enter the new season full of confidence, as they enjoyed plenty of success under their current manager Russ Wilcox, even going on a record-breaking 28-game unbeaten run on their way to securing promotion back into the third tier. The Iron's squad is packed with players of proven League One pedigree, but Wilcox has been very busy in the transfer market despite that, as he brought several players with great experience of playing in the division. The list of signings includes striker Lyle Taylor, defenders Miguel Llera and Miles Addison, as well as midfielder Neal Bishop and winger Jennison Myrie-Williams. All these players have the quality to start for a solid midtable League One club, and Scunthorpe fans will be delighted with the transfer business that has been done over the summer, especially as no key players left the club. Despite having only just won promotion into the division, Scunthorpe will not be expected to battle against the drop, as they have quality in all areas of their squad. The optimists among their players will probably be dreaming of consecutive promotions, but they are probably still three or four players short of being able to really compete at the top of the table.

Target

Their will be aiming for a midtable finish, and should have no problems obtaining it, as their squad is decent, and they made some good captures during the summer.
