Wanderers had a rough last season. Finished dead last and had the fewest wins, only 4. Stayed full 17 points outside the play-offs, lost 15 of their 22 games, relied exclusively on two players for most of their goals. Between them teenage sensation Saveska and third-year striker Harding scored or assisted directly for 20 of the 28 total goals Wanderers had. In a turbulent off-season both Saveska and Harding left. It was a summer of resetting things for Wanderers. Allowed 11 players to leave, while so far only 4 new signings had been made. Coach Abrahams is aware that his main task this season will be to develop young academy players. The two new Chinese players are of unknown quality and with zero experience outside their homeland. Defender DeFazio is also not an upgrade on the departed McComasky and Hayward. Holly Caspers had an injury ravaged last season but it seems she will be the main hope in attack this term. Abrahams plays with a lone striker so even if Cong Yuan starts often she’s expected to play mainly on the wings. There are several young players that should see lots of starts and use this season. Among them are the 17-year-old Milly Bennett, 16-year-old attacking midfielder Talia Younis and 21-year-old wide midfielder Cushla Rue. Captain Harrison will continue to be the key figure in defence. Ena Harada should be the main playmaker in the middle of the park. Lack depth and experience so even if one or two of the main players sustain injuries Wanderers will struggle.

Target

Develop some young prospects and avoid finishing last.
