Solid previous campaign saw them finish 3rd. Had the 2nd best home record of the regular season and 2nd highest attendance figures. Even at age 37 captain Michelle Heyman still contributed 6 goals, 4 of those in 1-goal wins. Unfortunate to lose 1-3 in the Elimination Final vs Victory. Played well and really looked the likelier winners. Happy with the displays and the direction Canberra kept all their regulars from last season. Even veteran Heyman committed for another season. Added several quality players too, 3 of those from Adelaide, to boost their depth chart. Aggressive CM Condon is the likeliest of the new arrivals to become a regular. Defenders Ayson and Tolland also should play often. The main weakness last season was defending set pieces. The arrival of tall CB Ayson should address that. Even at age 38 up front Heyman should remain a key figure. She might not start all games but is likely to lead the charge for all important fixtures. According to her own admission she aims to have 1 more 10+ goal season in her illustrious career before she retires. If everyone stays healthy and with the improved depth in defence and midfield Canberra can easily become title contenders this season.

Target

High ambitions. Aim at the Grand Final.
