Gary Bollan is central to the fortunes of Cowdenbeath as he continues his reign at Central Park. He has steadied the ship since being appointed manager back in November 2017. He has had to work hard with back-to-back relegations being followed by back-to-back bottom of the table finishes in League 2. The last of those came in his first season but last season was a different story as they were pushing for a play-off place before the campaign was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. He has meagre resources at Central Park but has built a strong squad full of experience. He will be pleased to have retained the spine of his team this summer, with set-piece specialist Fraser Mullen signing on for another year. He has been joined by defenders Craig Barr and Jamie Todd, midfielders Kyle Miller and Robbie Buchanan and strikers David Cox and Kris Renton in signing new deals. It brings some much-needed stability to the Blue Brazil and they will be looking to continue where they left off last season. It does mean that Bollan has only had to make a handful of additions this summer, including the captures of St Johnstone duo Ross Sinclair and Olly Hamilton on season-long loans. The pair spent much of the last campaign on loan at Brechin City.

Target

Play-offs. Bollan had them in the hunt last time around and there’s no reason why they won’t be there or thereabouts again.
