Elgin suffered more play-off agony as they lost to Edinburgh City after finishing third in the table on goal difference. They were strong at home and were one of the few teams to defeat dominant Queen’s Park. In Kane Hester they had one of the best strikers in League Two. The Elgin squad is stable with few in and outs so far. Defender Stephen Bronsky has made the switch to rivals Edinburgh. Striker Smart Osalador had departed along with another defender David Wilson. Crucially for their hopes in the coming season, Kane Hester has resisted moves away from the Northeast. Joining up at Borough Briggs are Forfar Athletic goalkeeper Daniel Hoban who is hoping to push Tom McHale for that position. Central defender Creag Little has signed after a solid season at Stenhousemuir and another defender Archie McPhee has made his loan deal from Formartine United permanent. Elgin have also taken a host of youths on loan for development from teams in the Northeast. Elgin have stability in their squad and significantly a top striker in the shape of Kane Hester. They have come close to promotion in the past 2 seasons are are looking to secure it at the third attempt. Creag Little brings more options in defence and overall, they have a well-balanced squad for the task ahead.
