After a solid start to the season, Stenhousemuir lost their way and finished well short of their target of making the play-offs. Finishing in 6th place was a failure and manager Davie Irons jumped before he was pushed. Their season ended with some negative headlines surrounding abusive comments to an opposition player. Stephen Swift is now manager and has set about rebuilding the squad. The squad has been stripped out with around 16 leaving the club. Some well-known strikers have left the club including Mark McGuigan, Greg Spence and Botti Biabi. Callum Tapping and Ryan Blair are notable midfielders that have left too. Creag Little, Chris Kane and Jonathan Tiffoney were all regulars in defence last season but have also moved on. New manager Stephen Swift was formerly manager of BSC Glasgow and it is no surprise that he has recruited a host of his former players. The Warriors have also brought in some quality with Nat Wedderburn and Ross Forbes in midfield. Defender Sean Crighton and forward Robert Thomson represent significant signings as League Two level. After a poor season, Stenhousemuir have a fresh start with a new manager and a new squad. There is quality in the squad, but they may take time to gel together. Given there is no obvious favourite in League Two this season, if they can gel quickly then an exciting season could lie ahead.

Target

Stenhousemuir are looking at reaching the play-offs. A sustained title challenge looks beyond them.
