Eupen had a decent last season and improved steadily after a dire start to secure safety without too much of a hassle. This earns Spanish coach Benat San Jose another season at the helm and the Spaniard will look to improve further and grow the squad in the coming months. He has seen a few important players move on, mostly veterans Daniel Milicevic and Siebe Blondelle, while on-loan striker Smail Prevljak will be missed too after having good impact back in January and February. But the Pandas made one of arguably the best signings of the summer so far in bringing in free agent Benoit Poulain to be the new leader of the defence. He was integral part of a title-winning Brugge side back in 2018 and remains quality at this level as long as he is fit. Jordi Amat has been retained after a loan spell and he has the quality to form a good partnership but his lack of discipline last season was an issue. The overall lack of depth is the main issue for San Jose at the moment as he has very few players of proven quality. Still, the team looks decent enough when everyone is healthy.
