Mouscron had a pretty good season overall last year and never once seemed to be in danger of being dragged into a battle for survival. Bernd Hollerbach did a pretty sterling job with a hodgepodge of a squad but he will not earn the chance of another campaign there as Fernando Da Cruz returns for a second stint as a Mouscron manager, having been there in 2017/18. He is overseeing a massive squad overhaul and an influx of reserve players from French side Lille provides a large proton of the new arrivals. On top of that, the Hurlus have also brought in a seasoned defender in Matias Silvestre while Harlem Gnohere, a reliable goalscorer in the Romanian league, is the main expected to bring up the goals. Keeping hold of some talented players like Marko Bakic and Fabrice Olinga will give the squad options but star loanees like Kevin Wimmer and Alexi Garcia are not around anymore and their touch of class will be missed. Franck Boya and Jean Butez, two of the most consistent performers last season, have left as well and will not be easy to replace. Hard to give predictions about a new-look squad that will see more additions in the coming weeks but Mouscron should have enough to survive yet again.

Target

Avoiding relegation.
