Finished 16th last season, very, very closer from having been relegated. Ended with same points as 17th Vasco. Won the finals of Cearense State Championship against arch-rivals Ceará. Tricolores seem stronger for the upcoming season. Yago Pikachu, Daniel Guedes and Marcelo are safe bets for defense and Titi is the ideal replacement for Paulão. Robson and Crispim are in great form since joining 'Leão' in 2021 and may be giving the team some of the attacking edge that lacked last season. Wellington Nem is a star in decline due to physical problems. Will try to use this season to get back at his best shape. Nevertheless the big question yet to be answered is on how will Fortaleza get away from the shadow of Rogério Ceni. All good moments that Fortaleza had in the last 4 years were under the current Flamengo coach, having struggled when he isn't around. The Argentinean Vojvoda brought a promise of attacking football with him, and the fact is that Fortaleza scored 18 goals on his first 3 games so far.

Target

Avoiding relegation while putting out a fearful attacking front is the main goal for the season.
