Finishing 2nd last season. A last round draw against a mid-table opponent took the glory away from them. This season, also only short from glory: lost to arch-rivals Grêmio on the finals of State Championship. Only two new players were brought for the new season, but two great names. Cesar Palacios is a young promising winger from Chile; Taison is an idol of the club returning home after 12 years in Ukraine. Spanish coach Miguel Angel Ramirez was an old target of the club and finally joined 'Colorado'. He seems to be willing to make Internacional a true attacking force based on a very offensive 4-3-3. Skipper Dourado seems fully recovered from a year long injury and back to his best game, ready to command the midfield. Thiago Galhardo will be trying to be back at the form he shown in first part of last season, and he seems to be on the mood with 9 goals in 14 games, this season, already. Colorado suffered with a few severe knee injuries last season, and a few players look like struggling to be back. Guerrero resumed fitness, but doesn't look like his old self. Saravia and Boschilia remain with the medical department. Lucas Ribeiro at the back, Praxedes, Jonnhy and Nonato in midfield and Yuri Alberto in attack are the young players to keep an eye on.

Target

They are on a second wave of title candidates, just behind the real favourites Flamengo, Atlétigo MG and Palmeiras. On a side, they will be looking to pick at least one win against Grêmio since Inter has been without winning against their arch rivals for 7 years.
