Kalmar survived relegation again via the play-offs with comfortable wins over Jonkopings. They spent most of the season in the bottom 2 places, but only 1 loss in their final 6 matches meant they scrambled into the play-outs. After another relegation scare, Kalmar have dispensed with over a dozen players. Inspirational captain Elm has finally listened to his injured knees and retired. Experienced goalkeeper Soderberg has made a surprising upward move to IFK Gothenburg. The rest of the players heading out were rarely used last season. Striker Herrem recovered from injury to finish the season on form but has taken a move to Asane in the Norwegian second tier. Perpetual substitute Rafael has signed for Eskilstuna in the Superettan along with Ahl Holmstrom. Their key signing has been midfielder Ring who enjoyed a successful spell at Djurgarden last season. Berg joins in midfield after being an ever-present for Sundsvall last season. Teenage striker Shamoun is hoping to break through in the top-flight along with defensive prospect Rhose. Kalmar have recruited the best squad they can, but they lack goal scorers. The goalkeeping position also lacks cover should Hagg-Johansson become injured. However, Kalmar are familiar with relegation battles and know how to win them.

Target

Kalmar would love a mid-table finish, but reality dictates it is all about survival again. They have dodged relegation in consecutive seasons, but can they do it again?
