Elfsborg was the surprise of the last season as they ended up in the second place of Allsvenskan having the least losses among any Allsvenskan team - only 3 in 30 matches. This season it won't be the same for Elfsborg, though, as everyone will expect them and will be much more careful when facing them. Moreover, they lost players like midfielder Heltne Nielsen and of course Jesper Karlsson who had left in the mid of last season for AZ Alkmaar. There are many players who are important, but it means a lot that they have kept the defensive line with Johan Larsson, Joseph Okumu, Leo Väisänen, Simon Strand. Maudo Jarjue on loan from Austria Vienna and Romer from Randers were important additions for Elfsborg but they need to fit in with the team and know better their teammates so they wil need a bit of time to adjust. In the pre-season Elfsborg didn't excel but didn't disappoint as well, just showing that they need time to improve and perform in high levels like last season. The main question remains though who will be the player who will help Elfsborg in scoring and lead the team offensively.

Target

It will be difficult for Elfsborg to repeat the achievement of the second place. Their target will be to qualify for European Competitions again.
