Football Season Guide

A dominant campaign saw Rangers storm to victory, finishing unbeaten in the league, dropping points only 6 times out of 38. But cup campaigns were disappointing, going out of the league cup and national cup to St Mirren and St Johnstone respectively, as well as to Slavia Praha in the Europa League. Midfield was a key area, with Aribo and Kamara forming an excellent partnership. But play was strong across the park, with a mix of youth and experience combining. Pre-season games have been somewhat erratic, with poor performances against Partick Thistle and Tranmere Rovers bad for morale, but team have been testing out new tactics and giving fitness to squad players. Summer recruitment has been strong, despite some departures. Morelos has attracted many bids and is apparently unsettled, but the squad is mostly strong, with few key departures, and is boosted by the arrival of a small number of quality new signings. Ofobroh, Lundstram and Sakala are all excellent additions who provide depth and competition in key areas without shaking the character of the squad. Confidence levels are high and Rangers will be expecting another excellent season.
