An amazing first season under Callum Davidson saw St Johnstone achieve a cup double, claiming both the League and National Cup, as well as securing a solid 5th place finish. Despite a difficult start to the campaign, with 7 defeats from opening 10 games, St Johnstone grew into the season, offering a strong core capable of grinding out results, and finished on a high. Forward line sometimes struggled, with top scorer May only managing 9 goals in 44 games, and second scorer Melamed 7 from 23, though Melamed has now left the club, leaving the team somewhat light up front. High profile loan signings from Manchester United and Millwall offer a little more strength in depth at the back. But numbers are still light in key areas, with a lack of support for Kane and May up front. Pre-season has been somewhat disrupted with club unsure of arrangements for European fixtures, but strong friendly performances against the likes of Preston and Fleetwood show strength throughout the squad. After such a successful season last time out, improving will be a tough task. But the team have kept the bulk of their key players together and take lots of confidence into the new campaign.

Target

4th. After impressing last season, qualifying for Europe once again, as well as more strong cup performances, would help the club continue its growth.
