Despite an inconsistent league campaign that saw them finish just inside the top-half, Stuttgart were able to win a first trophy in 18 years after lifting the DFB Pokal in May. The Swabians have made significant progress under the leadership of coach Sebastian Hoeness and will be relieved he agreed to stay at the club, despite interest from elsewhere. Although their Champions League campaign was short lived last season, the Europa League may prove to be more suited for them, and you feel Stuttgart have now got a squad to compete in all competitions. Right-back Lorenz Assignon is the pick of new signings from Stade Rennais and should be a regular starter after inconsistent performances from Joshua Vagnoman last season. The future also looks bright for Stuttgart after the additions of talented youngsters Lazar Jovanovic, Chema Andres, and Noah Darvich. The only significant departure so far is versatile midfielder Enzo Millot to the Saudi league, but he was unable to find his best form last season. Star striker Woltemade remains at the club for now, but speculation of a move to Bayern continues to rise. Stuttgart should be exciting to watch again this season with plenty of attacking talent, but their vulnerabilities defensively will need to improve.

Target

Stuttgart have the credentials to be up towards the top end of the table and going far in other competitions, this will all depend on keeping players fit - top 4.
