Stadium style: Bowl For nearly 100 years, Arsenal’s home was at the Highbury Stadium - the East Stand is now a listed building. However, the team’s success in the ‘90s meant the stadium became too small and the decision to build a new stadium was taken in 1999. The Highbury ground has been redeveloped into luxury housing. |
Recent History | 1980s/90s - George Graham was at the helm. Famous for their back line lead by the formidable Tony Adams. They produced one of the most exciting moments in a top flight season when in 1988-89 they beat Liverpool in the final minute of the game to snatch the title from their Merseyside rivals. In 1990-91 Arsenal would again win the title, defeated only once across the entire season. 1990s-2018 - Arsene Wenger took Arsenal to new heights with his trademark style of attacking football. Bringing in the likes of Patrick Vierira, Ashley Cole, Denis Bergkamp & Thierry Henry, the Gunners would amass a total of 3 Premier League titles including The Invincibles season of 2003-04 when they completed the only unbeaten Premier League campaign. |
