Bayern Munchen endured an underwhelming campaign last season compared to their recent high standards, lifting just the Bundesliga title while falling short in the cup competitions, including a shock early exit in the DFB Cup. Bayern have hit the reset button once again, parting ways with Hans Flick and bringing in the highly promising Julian Nagelsmann from RB Leipzig. The coach is not the only arrival from Leipzig with Bayern also signing Dayot Upamecano who remains their only major arrival so far this season. They have also brought in Omar Richards and Sven Ulreich and the duo will help improve the squad depth, especially following a number of departures. Jerome Boateng, Javi Martinez and David Alaba have all left the club after the contracts expired. Alexander Nubel has been loaned out to Monaco, with the keeper pushing for more playing time, while Joshua Zirkzee, Adrian Fein and Lars Lukas Mai have also left on loan deals. Bayern do have lots of quality in their starting lineup to once again begin the new season as the favorites for the title but they could pay the price for lack of investment in improving their squad depth, with the bench strength lacking quality options especially with the club having continued to struggle with injuries last season.

Target

The league title remains the minimum expected this season though the club will be aiming to better their cup performances from last campaign.
