Bromma had a season of two halves in 2023 when they returned to the top flight. It was an impressive start to the campaign and after 11 rounds Bromma even sat in fourth place and were the highest-ranked team from Stockholm at that stage. Lost form from August onward though. A long winless run in the autumn resulted in Bromma collapsing to fourteenth place in the final rounds and needing a survival play-off to stay in the top flight. This outcome was an unfortunate one with Bromma never really that weak to be in battle for survival. They proved that by winning the play-off against Utsiktens 7:0 on aggregate. It has been a winter of changes so far for Bromma. Coach Mellberg was trusted to stay in charge for a second season but 5 main players are no longer in the squad. The 2 best centre-backs Soggard and Lofgren, the main anchor in midfield Holm, and the big stars on the wings Pettersson and Inoussa moved on. Signed some decent replacements in midfield and attack – Orqvist, Irandust and Jakobssen – but look exposed in defence right now. The full-backs lack experience, while 2 of what are seen the main 3 centre-backs (Calisir and Heggem) are injury-prone and both missed many matches last year. Bromma still have a talented squad that just needs to avoid long stretches without a win as was the case last autumn. One of the brightest young Swedish players Odefalk is now 19 and he is expected to become key contributor in attack after returning to the team in the summer, only 6 months after leaving Bromma in first place.

Target

Another tough season can be expected. Have the squad to stay out of the bottom 3 but need to be more consistent.
