Norrkoping had another mediocre season in 2023. The expected struggles in attack proved to be true. Added to that the fact that star playmaker Sigurdsson left halfway through the campaign and several other key players missed matches injured there was not much hope for the campaign to be a success. Norrkoping finished ninth in the standings in the end and the one good thing was that they stayed consistent and never dropped out of the top 10 all campaign. Still, with no players to score in double figures in 2023 and with only 7 clean sheets in 30 rounds Norrkoping clearly showed they need to improve at both ends of the pitch. The ownership decided to move on from coach Riddensholm in the winter and the 2024 season will start with new manager at the helm – Andreas Alm. Alm knew that relying only on captain Nyman in attack for yet another year simply won’t do it and the additions of strikers Prica and Bjork give depth and hope that the scoring record this season will be much better. Defender Lund and winger Lind were the only notable players to leave this winter, with Watson and Sogaard signed to replace the former. Norrkoping have a good starting XI on paper and as long as everyone of their main stars stays fit they could be a dark horse in the race for the podium. In any case, with the squad having better depth both in attack and defence this season, an improvement on the ninth finish last year can be expected.

Target

Hoping to challenge for a top 6 finish. Not likely to get involved in the battle for the European places though.
