Eintracht Frankfurt were one of the biggest underachievers last season with the club hoping to secure back to back Champions League qualification only to end the campaign without any European football for this season as they finished eighth in the league table. The start of the new season with see another new face on the sidelines for Frankfurt with the club deciding to part ways with Albert Riera who himself had taken over from Dino Toppmoller at the end of January but was unable to trigger an improvement in form. Frankfurt have brought back a familiar face in Adi Hutter, who was in charge of the club between 2018 and 2021. He will be taking over a team that has lost one of its most consistent players in recent years with Nathaniel Brown being sold to Bayern Munchen. They have also lost a couple of experienced heads in the midfield with Ellyes Skhiri sold to Koln while Mahmoud Dahoud's contract was not renewed. Frankfurt have replaced Skhiri by signing Noël Aséko from Bayern and the youngster will provide some much needed athleticism and aggressiveness in the center of the pitch. Raphael Onyedika has also arrived from Club Brugge to boost the options in the midfield while Brazilian Otavio looks set to start the campaign as the first choice central defender, especially with Arthur Theate's future at the club currently uncertain. Hutter is known for his high pressing, aggressive football and while the Frankfurt coach certainly has got the tools for it, much will depend on how quickly the squad will buy into his ideas while at the same time remain injury free, especially in the attack where Jonathan Burkardt was a consistent goal scorer but missed a significant part of last season through injury

Target

European qualification. Frankfurt have the right mix of experience and potential in their squad and have shown that they can beat anybody on their day, though consistency will remain key for the Eagles this season
