Canarinhos will certainly want to avoid the ups and downs of last season. Despite being hailed as having an above average squad, Estoril failed to confirm it during most of the season. Fabiano Soares was sacked in the middle of the campaign, only for Pedro Carmona have a winless spell at the club. Finally, Pedro Emanuel arrived and in just ten rounds, he collected almost half of the total points gathered in the whole season by Estoril. Expectations are then high with Pedro Emanuel now being able to properly plan an entire campaign. However, for the upcoming season, Canarinhos might have a little drop in the options available. Influential players like attacking midfielder Mattheus or central midfielders, Diogo Amado and Afonso Taira, as well as the winger Licá (who returned to his owner club after a loan) are no longer available. On the way in, there haven't been many notable signings so far. Lucas Evangelista arrived from Udinese, probably to take over Mattheus' place in the squad. Pedro Monteiro who played at Paços Ferreira last season should be a reserve option for the defence. Some other players are arriving in Portugal for the first time and remain unknown prospects for the season. Still, it shouldn't be forgotten that quality players like key striker Kléber and the supporter attackers Matheus Índio and André Claro, as well as goalkeeper Moreira and defenders Gonçalo Brandão and Diakhité remain at the club. They should ensure sufficient quality for Estoril to avoid a tumultuous type of season like the one they had last time.

Target

Estoril will be looking to avoid relegation as soon as possible in order to aim for a top half table position.
